What is a Boxing Buddy!

Don't tell me you don't know what a Boxing Buddy is!
OK, so a Boxing Buddy is a stuffed animal, toy, or whatever, that travels from one host to another. While staying with these hosts, the Boxing Buddy goes on letterboxing adventures and/or other adventures with the host. Usually, the host writes back to the owner of the Boxing Buddy with details of any trips the buddy made have gone on. Most Boxing Buddies have their own blogs, where details are posted of trips and adventures, and can be found at the main page of this Boxing Buddy Blogsite listed by name on the right hand side.

Creating a Boxing Buddy!

Doesn't matter what it is, what color it is, how ugly it is. What matters is that it's yours and you wanna share your buddy with others. Some have chosen Boxing Buddies that best represent their home state, and some have chosen due to there background, whether it be military or teaching or sports. You can a Boxing Buddy that best suits you. It is not written, but you should keep your Boxing Buddies size rather small. The smaller the Boxing Buddy, the cheaper it is so mail from host to host.
Once a Boxing Buddy is chosen, You will need to carve a personal traveling stamp. This stamp can be about anything you want as well, but maybe should fit your Boxing Buddies style or personality.
A logbook should also chosen. Logbooks do vary in size and will be left up to you as to what it looks like.

Who Do You Send Your Buddy To!

So you find yourself with a Boxing Buddy sitting on your computer desk or what not, and he/she has no place to go. You can visit the Yahoo Boxing Buddy talk list, and post that you have a Boxing Buddy ready for a host. Post about your Boxing Buddy and what your Boxing Buddy enjoys doing during spare time. Tell everyone your Boxing Buddies name, where he/she lives, or where he/she would like to do in the future. Someone with a wonderful idea for time will soon post, willing to host your Boxing Buddy. Information should be exchanged once a host is picked. Let the future host know how long it will take for you to send out your Boxing Buddy and also when you send he/she out in the mail. Also post something on the talk list allowing others that someone has been chosen as a host for you Boxing Buddy.
When the time comes to send your Boxing Buddy to another host, repeat the steps all over again until finally, you choose to have your Boxing Buddy to come home.
All mailing costs for your Boxing Buddy, are put on the person mailing the buddy from host to host. Cost through your local Post Office ranges around $5.00, give or take a few dollars.

So You Wanna Host a Buddy!

So do you have what it takes to host a Boxing Buddy?
Well, what I would suggest is you visit the Yahoo Boxing Buddy talk list. It is there, that you can post your request for hosting a Boxing Buddy. Explain where you are from, the places of interest around your living quarters, and/or how many Boxing Buddies you are willing to host at any given time. Once you post your request, just wait patiently for someone to reply with information on a Boxing Buddy you could possibly host soon. When you post a request, it is not required to also post your address, although it is totally up to you whether or not you would like to do so.
As a host, the owner may ask that you report back to him/her, about any trips or adventures. They could be letterboxing or fishing down at the local pier. Pictures can also add to the excitement of the adventure.
Being a host, after a comfortable length of time, you must be prepared to send the Boxing Buddy you are hosting, to another future host. All cost to send the Boxing Buddy to someone else, is all your expense. Cost through your local Post Office ranges around $5.00, give or take a few dollars.
